Ezra Jane graduated from Oberlin College in 2009, earning a Bachelor's in Visual Arts with a concentration in narrative art. In 2014 they completed a certificate program at the University of Washington in Natural Science Illustration, and in September 2018 they began their apprenticeship with Silver Fawkes at Lilith Tattoo.
